At Harmony Hills in Florida, we know that making the decision to get help comes with mixed emotions. While it can be exciting to embrace change, seeking addiction treatment can also cause varying degrees of anxiety. Knowing what to expect during the rehab admissions process could ease you or your loved one’s apprehension.
Determining Length of Stay During the Admissions Process
At Harmony Hills, we believe that individuals have different needs. That’s why we develop individualized plans during the rehab admissions process. We use various tools to help us understand clients needs and develop the most effective plans possible, including:
- Medical and health assessment
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Comprehensive biopsychosocial and diagnostic evaluation
- Standardized testing
- Functional testing
- Nutritional analysis
While we offer various levels of care, the majority of our clients enroll in our residential program. With access to an array of amenities, comfortable housing, and 24/7 supervision, we’ve found that individuals achieve the highest success rates when starting at the residential level.
On average, clients participating in our residential program stay for 28–30 days. However, individuals with a severe addiction history may require up to 90 days. Regardless of the timeframe, we do more than just preach abstinence-based addiction recovery. Using a variety of traditional and holistic methods, our addiction treatment approach promotes overall wellness, giving individuals the best chance of lasting sobriety.
After completing residential treatment, many of our clients step down into an intensive outpatient program, followed by general outpatient services. Upon completion of the comprehensive recovery program, we offer post addiction treatment support. Because addiction is a condition requiring ongoing care and support, our Connect program encourages clients to stay connected to our community.
We offer various opportunities to stay engaged, including online resources, staff outreach, and various events and activities to promote continued sobriety.
Understanding Discharge Procedures During the Rehab Admissions Process
At Harmony Hills, the term “discharge” can have a positive or negative connotation. Examples of a positive discharge include:
- Successfully completing the program and transitioning to a lower level of care
- Having adequate support to live independently in the community
- Requiring a different level of care
While our goal is for clients to only experience the above examples, clients can also be discharged for:
- Gross disregard for client rules
- Consistent disrespect or threats made to other clients or staff members
- No longer meeting medical criteria for the level of care
- Leaving against medical advice
Regardless of their discharge status, our case management team will coordinate a comprehensive discharge plan for all clients.
