Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) are intended to be comprehensive, short-term, intensive treatment services that address the complex nature of addiction and co-occurring disorders.
At Harmony Hills, we provide PHP services for individuals who have already completed medically supervised detoxification or have undergone intensive therapy in the form of inpatient treatment. Those steps are crucial for people in addiction recovery because detox relieves the acute, bodily concerns of substance abuse. Inpatient provides comprehensive full-time treatment that addresses the psychological and emotional aspects of addiction.
At Harmony Hills, our PHP services are comprehensive, structured, and adaptable. PHP services are a nuanced, multi-level approach designed to heal the whole person — mind, body, and soul. Our services adhere to industry standards and our certified professional administer world-class care that incorporates evidence-based approaches, holistic therapies, and support groups.
Harmony Hills honors the dignity and recovery journey of every client that walks through our doors. Thus, our physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, caseworkers, and support staff are committed to delivering a customized treatment experience that addresses the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of the individual.
PHP is integral to that mission. Unlike other treatment centers, we do not force our patients to adhere to a single treatment approach. The complex nature of addiction and associated disorders makes a standard, one-size-fits-all treatment approach obsolete.
At Harmony Hills, we do the opposite. We form partnerships with each client to develop a treatment plan that best fits their individual needs and requirements. Plus, we constantly review our services, so they are based on the most up-to-date evidence and scientific techniques.
PHP services combine the benefits of inpatient treatment with those of outpatient services. An inpatient program provides clients temporary housing at a treatment facility, where they receive a full-time slate of therapy and care. An outpatient program, however, allows clients to live at home and commute to treatment on scheduled days, but on a part-time basis. Think of PHP as the best of both worlds.
Partial hospitalization is the most intensive form of outpatient care because it offers clients up to 20 hours a week of treatment in a highly structured setting. Clients can receive services five days a week, which is similar to an inpatient program schedule.
Like an outpatient program, PHP allows clients the flexibility to return home after they have received treatment. They can access intensive services, but they do not have to put their lives on hold to do so.
While Harmony Hills reserves its residential accommodations for clients enrolled in inpatient care, PHP patients can also have access to its housing accommodations if they so choose.
At Harmony Hills, clients receive evidence-based therapy proven to effectively treat addiction, including:
For alcohol and opioid addictions, we also offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), along with other therapeutic services and approaches.
However, addiction recovery is as much about the soul as it is about science.
So we established the Harmony Hills Treatment Ranch in the bucolic resort town of Altoona, Florida as a bastion of tranquility and comfort. These serene surroundings are optimal for the important task of recovery. We also provide care for the spirit, which includes sound and art therapy along with a bevy of fun, recreational activities.
In short, our clients have access to an array of therapies, treatments, and services they can choose from to personalize their recovery journey.
Unfortunately, drug abuse can introduce or exacerbate medical and mental issues. For example, drug use can increase your risk of contracting diseases such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis C (a serious liver disease). Injection drug use can also lead to heart and skin infections, reports the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Because medical complications are a significant part of drug abuse and addiction, medication management is a vital component of partial hospitalization services at Harmony Hills.
NIDA also estimates that one in four people with a serious mental illness also has a substance use disorder (SUD), the clinical term for a substance abuse problem. In PHP, clinical and medical staff can prescribe medication to clients with psychiatric needs. These professionals are also available to consult with clients or implement a medication management plan. At Harmony Hills, we address any co-occurring medical and/or mental health issue of a client because it is essential to their full recovery.
On the road to lasting recovery, partial hospitalization is a critical juncture that can determine your future success. Successful addiction recovery services are a part of the continuum of care, starting with medical detox and intensive inpatient treatment. As a client progresses through treatment, partial hospitalization can deliver vital therapeutic services and life skills that can help them transition back into normal life.
Our goal is that each client leaves our facility feeling renewed, empowered, and capable of achieving sustained recovery.
